I picture you on a ship in the ocean. I picture you on a bus going down town. I picture you on a jet as it leaves the ground. I picture you on a rocket ship and floating through the night sky. And everybody gets the blues sometimes in their lives. But not you, you're swimming in it all the time. That' how I picture you. I picture you on a train going southbound. I picture you on a subway ten feet under ground. I picture you soaring high above the clouds. That's how I picture you - like a flower on a hillside, a late night on the T.V. And everybody gets the blues sometimes in their lives. But not you, you're swimming in it all the time. That's how I picture you. Yeah, everybody gets the blues sometimes in their lives. But not you, you're swimming in it - you're swimming in it all the time. That's how I picture you... just floating away.

Take It Away 02:29
Take it away. It doesn't matter any more where you're going when you go away...

You're strange, you don't live here on the physical plain. You're strange, you don't see things in the usual way...

There's two sides to every story. You can't have the night without the day. Defeat's the other side of glory. November is the opposite of May. If you're afraid of hate, you might be afraid of love. They were both created from somewhere up above. If you're afraid of success, then you might be afraid to fail. If you're afraid of your own sex, you might wind of in jail. There's black and there's white and many colors in between. My last name is Cooper and my first name is Janine I'm not afraid of much. I get up in the morning and I hop onto a bus. It takes me to the darkest side of town. But I don't feel frightened there. No, I don't turn around. The clouds may cover up the sun, but they can't carry it away. Don't let your fears put a damper on a beautiful day. There's no one in the closet, there are no footsteps in the hall. I'm not afraid of dying and I'm not afraid to fall. In the garden there's a tree where the apples did grow. There's where temptation met fear and the rest is history, you know. My grandma's in the cemetery and sometimes I visit. I have a '67 Nova but I never use. I'm not afraid of much. I get up in the morning and I hop onto a bus. It takes me to the darkest side of town. But I don't feel different there. So, I don't turn around. I'm not afraid of much. I get up in the morning and I hop onto a bus. It takes me to the station where I catch a subway train. I turn around and I do all over again.

Well, I saw him walking... in the community garden. I asked what his name was. He told me it wasn't. We sat by the fountain... as the sun started sinking. We smiled at the same things, I knew then, that might be a problem. Don't kill me... don't kill me... don't kill me, don't chill me... don't kill me with kindness. When I smelled the night jasmine, I knew that I must be going. But he held my hand tightly and asked me to stay by his side till the morning. His mystique turned to darkness... as the night fell around us. And we lay in the shadows of the moonlight amongst the flowers in the garden. Don't kill me... I won't be coming home tonight. I found another love tonight. I hope that is all right. Don't kill me. Now, time is an arrow... that shoots through his silence. And while with another... I felt his presence... his disappointment and sorrow... as I drank in the moment. I know that there might be trouble in the early hours of the morning. Don't kill me...

Walden Pond 03:07
Henry, won't you take me down with you to Walden Pond, let me travel with you down the paths you've crossed along...

Today I saw you in a photograph. Made me smile and it made me laugh. I thought of all the things that we've been through. And by the way, I miss you too. Today I saw you in a magazine. So glad to see you made the scene. Glad to see that all went for you. And by the way, I miss you too. Today I saw you on a TV show. The camera picked up such a handsome glow. Glad to see that all went well for you. And by the way, I miss you too.
